PAI LUM KUNG FU BREATHING POSTURES
1. Corpse Posture This
is done by simply lying on your back and allowing the legs to be
opened at about shoulder width apart. The arms lay at the side of the
body, and are parallel to the legs. The head is centered and the eyes
look up.
Practice circular breathing from the tan tien. 100 breaths.
2. Easy Lotus Posture Sit
on the floor with the legs straight. Start by pulling the right heel
into the groin area, allowing the sole of the foot to touch the left
inner thigh. Gently pull up on the right foot and pull the left foot
in front of the right leg. Let go of the right foot.The torso is kept
erect with the shoulders drooped. The arms are extended straight and
set on the knees with the palms turned out. The thumb and index finger
form a circle. The other three fingers are held together and straight.
The eyes look straight ahead, Parallel to the ground.
Practice circular breathing from the tan tien. 100 breaths.
3. Warriors Posture Kneel
down first with the right knee and then with the left knee. Place the
feet together with toes and balls of feet on the ground. Sit on the
heels. There should be one or two fist lengths between the knees. The
torso is kept erect with the shoulders drooped. The eyes look straight
ahead, parallel with the ground. The hands are placed, palms down on
the top of the thighs, with the fingers turned slightly inwards. Practice
circular breathing from the tan tien. 100 breaths.
4. Holding the world Posture Stand
with the feet shoulder width apart and in parallel lines. Bend the
knees out to the beg toes, with a gentle outward pressure. Tuck the
hip under the torso. Keep the torso erect. Droop the shoulders. Keep
the head erect. with the eyes looking straight ahead, parallel with
the ground. Raise
the arms up in front of the chest, as if you were holding a large
beach ball in front of you. The arms should be well rounded and the
hands should be in front of the breast. The finger tips should be
pointing towards each other about four inches apart. And the fingers
should be centered on the body centerline. The eyes should focus on
the space between the fingers. Practice
circular breathing from the tan tien. 100 breaths.
